When we first told folks we were planning on making a 3,500lbs plate of Nacho’s and attempting to break a Guinness World Record, they were all, “Oh no you can’t.” But we were all, “Oh yes we can.”
So on Wednesday April 7th come on out bring all your friends, make some new ones and witness a World Record. Every Wednesday night tons of teens experience Arora. Where have you been?

PRESS RELEASE – On April 7th, Teens In Frisco, Texas Will Make A Guinness World Record Attempt For “The Largest Plate Of Nachos – 3,500 lbs”.
Frisco, Texas, March 20, 2010: On April 7th at 7:30 pm, hundreds of students from across North Dallas will converge at Arora, the Student Ministry of Northstar Church in Frisco, Texas, to witness an attempt at breaking the current Guinness World Record for “The Largest Plate of Nachos”.
From the moment students arrive they will have a sight and sound experience including live music, carpet ball, billiards and a chance to play on the largest video game screen in Frisco. Plus, if that wasn’t enough, the United Free Style Stunt Team will be performing a spectacular 30-minute BMX exhibition, complete with 9ft ramps, and plenty of jaw dropping tricks.
In addition, each student who attends will get the opportunity of a lifetime to actually eat a “World Record”. Chris Lindberg, the Arora Youth Director, is quoted as saying “This night will be a once in a lifetime, historical event.”
A big thanks to sponsors like Snyders of Hanover and Dr. Pepper. Their financial assistance has allowed Arora to be able to provide this cost-free, alcohol-free, drug-free event to the teens in the area for yet another way for them to grow mentally, physically, socially, and spiritually.

PRESS RELEASE: Texas Teens Attempt Guinness World Record For “The Largest Plate of Nachos”
Dallas teens take part in world record attempt and eat 3,500 pounds of nachos, loaded with cheese and jalapeños.
Frisco, Texas, April 7, 2010 — Arora, the student ministry of Northstar Church, will open its doors at 7:30 p.m. to hundreds of area teens who will take part in a historical attempt to break the Guinness World Record for the largest plate of nachos. Once verified for Guinness World Records, the students will help eat the 3,500 pound cheesy mountain of nachos. The current record stands at 3,158 pounds.
A custom plate, 48-feet long and 4-feet wide, has been built to hold 2,200 pounds of yellow tortilla chips, 600 pounds of nacho cheese, 200 pounds of shredded cheddar cheese, 250 pounds of sour cream, 250 pounds of jalapeños and 200 pounds of picante sauce.
“We decided the world record for the largest plate of nachos rightfully belongs in Texas,” said Chris Lindberg, Arora Youth Director. “Each student who attends will not only be a part of a once in a lifetime event, they’ll actually get to eat a world record.”
Every Wednesday Arora provides a cost-free, alcohol-free and drug-free event for students in 6th through 12th grade. Teens enjoy live music, billiards, carpet-ball and the largest video game screen in Frisco. Arora offers a fun and meaningful way for Dallas youth to grow mentally, physically, socially and spiritually. As for the nachos — records were made to be broken.
The United Free Style Stunt Team will also be performing a spectacular 30-minute BMX exhibition, complete with ramps, and plenty of jaw dropping tricks.
Additionally, a daring group of Arora volunteers have pledged to be dropped off a 16-story free fall structure at Zero Gravity in Dallas if more than 300 teens attend the world record attempt.
